Irishman James Courtney won at just about every other road race going in the 1990s, but the glory of an Isle of Man TT win always eluded him. The closest he came to standing on the top step of the podium was when he took a second-place finish in the 1995 Lightweight TT. Who beat him to the victory? None other than the mercurial Joey Dunlop. MCN reckons there’s no shame in that.
