Shed heaven

The Bike Shed Mo­tor­cy­cle Club have been granted per­mis­sion to stay open un­til mid­night, de­spite op­po­si­tion from lo­cals. The BSMC has been open since 2015 and has be­come a pop­u­lar Lon­don venue for bik­ers and non-bik­ers alike.

Vin­tage trea­sure

Bel­staff are sell­ing a col­lec­tion of rare jack­ets from their ar­chive. They have teamed up with Ves­ti­aire Col­lec­tive to sell the items from the 1960s and ’70s, with prices rang­ing from £800 to £1650 for a rare red model. Ouch. For more info visit:­dpg2m

Tragic ac­ci­dent

Nür­bur­gring le­gend Bren­dan Keirle was killed at the week­end, re­port­edly while try­ing to warn oth­ers of oil on the track. Un­til re­cently he ran the nearby Slid­ers Guest­house. Keirle was known for tear­ing up the track on his R1, and will be sorely missed.

In­dian sum­mer

In­dia has be­come the world’s largest mo­tor­cy­cle mar­ket, hav­ing over­taken China. Last year 17.7 mil­lion mo­tor­cy­cles were sold in In­dia (around 48,000 per day), which is ap­prox­i­mately one mil­lion more than sold in China in 2016.
