Motorcycle News (UK) - - TT 2017 PREVIEW -

Anstey has been joined in the Padgett’s squad by Conor Cummins. The Manxman made the switch from the Honda Racing squad after the arrival of Guy Martin but the rider on whom the whole of the Isle of Man has pinned their hopes to win a Senior TT suffered an unfortunate start to his new job. The 30-year-old crashed his superstock spec Fireblade at Donington BSB last month and required surgery on a broken bone in his throttle hand.

Cummins elected to sit out the NW200 and has been recuperating in the Island’s hyperbaric chamber.

“I was disappointed not to have had a run at the North West but it was better not to disrupt the healing process,” he explained.

Cummins, the first rider to lap the TT at 131mph from a standing start, will ride a 2016-spec Fireblade in the Superbike and Senior races.
