Father of the Featherbed
Harold Daniell won the Senior TT on a Norton and described the bike as like ‘riding a featherbed’. That comment led to the naming of the at Norton’s frame. Daniell won three TTS and came sixth in the world 500 championship in 1949. Daniell had also won the 1938 Senior and set a fastest lap of over 90mph – a record that stood for 12 years!
