Motorcycle News (UK) - - TT 2017 PREVIEW -

Engine “Our TT engine spec is quite close to BSB spec, but slightly different to suit the characteristics of the TT course. At the TT it’s not all about horsepower, it’s more about power delivery.”

Chain “We put a new one in at the NW200 and use it for most of TT practice. A few days before the Superbike race we put a new one on, make sure it’s OK and use it for race week.”

Swingarm “We modify the standard arm as it’s much more durable. It is modified for quick wheel release, for chain adjuster blocks and more – it might look standard, but it’s not!”

Bubble screen “Doing those sorts of speeds over that distance is tiring, so the tall screen reduces turbulence. Can you imagine how much hitting the wind at 180mph would push back on you?”

Suspension “We run factory Öhlins suspension which is simply mega. Suspension for the TT has to be able to go through sections with the rider able to keep the throttle open.”
