WINNING IN WSB
After two years racing lower-spec RCVS in Motogp, Nicky headed to World Superbikes in 2016, lured by the thought of a new Fireblade in 2017 and the potential to become the first Motogp/ WSB champion. His 2016 bike was outdated, but he still managed a win at Sepang in the wet – almost 14 years after his debut as a WSB wildcard and 10 years after his last Motogp win. He finished fifth in the title standings.
