It was an emo­tional week­end at as the pad­dock met for the first time since the tragic loss of Nicky Hay­den last week. The Red Bull Honda rider was hon­oured through­out the week­end, not least with all rid­ers run­ning a #69 sticker on their bikes with oth­ers also don­ning Hay­den’s trade­mark num­ber on their leathers.

Hay­den’s former Honda team­mate Michael van der Mark wore a spe­cial hel­met in tribute to the 35-year-old, while fel­low Amer­i­can PJ Ja­cob­sen ran in a Hay­den replica lid in Sunday’s Su­pers­port race.

The Red Bull Honda team set up Hay­den’s bike in the garage so peo­ple could pay re­spect, and thou­sands of fans joined the pad­dock on the grid for a poignant minute’s si­lence on Saturday af­ter­noon. See p76-81.
