Q Can I get hard panniers for my 2006 CBR600F?

Motorcycle News (UK) - - Garage -

I have Givi soft panniers on my 2006 Honda CBR600F but they are beginning to show signs of age. I would like to upgrade to hard panniers but I’m not sure which ones to go for to ensure I get the correct fitting brackets for my bike. My budget is £350-£400. John Weir, email

Answered by Simon Weir, RIDE magazine There are plenty of topboxes available, but we can’t find anyone offering a hard-pannier fitting kit for a 2006 CBR600F – though both Givi and Kappa offer one for a 2011-13 model. But the back ends of the two bikes are fundamentally different so it would take more than just bolting it on and hoping it can be bent to fit. However, if you fancy your metalwork skills, we’d look at the Kappa system as the KLX1102 fitting kit at £146.66 is one of the more affordable racks. We’ve seen the panniers discounted to £199.99, which would bring the whole lot in for the £350 budget… unless you have to pay a local fabricator to do the modifying work for you.
