Hickman on podium again after slow start

Motorcycle News (UK) - - Sport -

Peter Hickman took his second podium finish in two days in the Supersport race on the Trooper Beer Triumph.

“I am still inexperienced compared to the other guys who have all ridden in those mixed conditions before,” the 30-year-old said.

“It was wet under the trees on the run out of Ramsey and I had a couple of big spins on the first lap.”

As with almost every other TT competitor in 2017, Hickman is desperate to get more time on the bike.

“I use my head a lot and if it says ‘no’ then it’s not happening.

“I want to make sure everything is ok before I really push and that’s why I am slower on the opening section. But I do think that I have the pace to run with Dunlop and Hutchy at the front now, even on a Superbike.”

And he is predicting further improvement in the week ahead.

“I have had a second and a third now so there is really only one way left to go,” he smiled.
