Verdict ‘Not just a Sunday toy’

The Ducati is the only machine that doesn’t have any kind of flaw. Combining superb handling with brilliant build quality, it also has a commanding, but comfortable riding position – a rarity for a bike like this.

It is pricey, but doesn’t have the ergonomic problems of the BMW, is far better built than the Yamaha, and makes the Triumph look heavy, long and slow (which it is). The Café Racer is a bike you could live with on a day-to-day basis and not get tired of its quirks, or bored with its performance. It’s more than just a Sunday toy and easily the most well-rounded bike here.
