1995/2002 Aprilia Moto 6.5
A case of design gone mad
What we said then “You’ve got to love its weird looks to contemplate owning it.” What happened then Aprilia gave French designer Philippe Starck free hand in styling a motorcycle – the result was the Moto 6.5. Shaped like a contemporary teapot, and powered by a lacklustre Rotax single, it was Starck’s first and only motorcycle – enough said. What’s happening now Having plummeted in value, Moto 6.5s are now being snapped up by art collectors and those who feel there is more value in Starck’s name than the bike’s actual performance and as a result prices are shockingly high.
