Should I foot the bill for Q expensive biking socks?

Motorcycle News (UK) - - Garage -

I have seen socks which claim to be specifically for motorcycle riding. Are these for real or some sort of fake news hoax? James Bunton, Halifax

Answered by Keith A Roissetter, Infinity Motorcycles Riding socks are indeed a real thing and there’s quite a few to choose from. The aptly-named Motorbike deodorant socks are a long model and have a sanitised finish which means that you can wear them for a few days. They’re also shaped for left and right feet, come in foot sizes and have many other comfort and support features. Sidi do their Faenza socks but apart from looking (very) colourful I’m not sure what else they have going for them. The Held Race socks are similar in price and claim to be ergonomically fitting with reinforced shins and ankle. The same money also gets you the Alpinestars Racing socks, which claim wicking properties as do the sensibly coloured Klim Coolmax vented socks.
