‘I had a couple of big moments today’
William Dunlop posted the fastest 600cc practice time and finished fourth in the Supersport race on the IC Racing/caffrey Yamaha R6, ten seconds down on Peter Hickman and 26 in front of Ian Hutchinson (Mcams Yamaha).
“I went out on the first lap and was trying hard but I had a couple of big moments and was nearly off at Ginger Hall and Hillberry,” the 31- year-old explained. “I was more cautious after that.”
Dunlop also struggled with the narrow power band on his Marcus Eschenbacher-built R6.
“It is a really good bike but it needs dry conditions to get the best out of it,” he said.
He made certain of his fourth place with the second fastest lap of the race at 126.122mph on the final circuit.
