“When I signed Jake 12 months ago, I always knew he had massive potential. Unfortunately, last year we had the incident at Oulton Park that set him back at the end of the year. He didn’t ride a bike again until we went testing in Spain and if I’m honest, I did wonder ‘Has he lost it? Will the aggression and dedication still be there?’

“He’d never really had a big injury before and you could see it had affected him, but he’s come out fighting and even though it’s not been the easiest start to the year, he’s worked really hard for this. Now we’ve got ourselves into a position with the right personnel, he’s proven what he’s capable of on a competitive motorbike.”
