Hutchy takes five in a week, Martin has a fireball and Brits shine at Silverstone Motogp

Motorcycle News (UK) - - This Week -

We’ll look back at June 2010 as a classic period for bike racing. The TT was set on fire by Ian Hutchinson’s five wins in a week and of course Guy Martin’s explosive crash in the Senior TT. At the same time, there was a bumper crowd for the first Motogp race at Silverstone with 70,000 punters attending over the three days.

It was a great time for riding too – a high-pressure area was fixed over mainland Britain, meaning the end of June was a mini heatwave. The highest temperature was 30.9°C, recorded in Gravesend in Kent. It would have made trackdays at Brands Hatch heaven…

Jorge Lorenzo took control in Motogp, taking the title by a whopping 138 points.
