It’s rare to look though MCN’S archives without coming across a story about how some new engine/bike/investor will save Laverda. 1985 is no different with a 350cc, three-cylinder, aircooled, two-stroke motor being showcased. Laverda claimed 67bhp for the motor – impressive for the capacity. It was never seen – and looked like it would have problems, anyway. By the mid-80s everyone had moved to water-cooling and the bottom pair of cylinders looked like they would super-heat the carbs…
