Motorcycle News (UK) - - This Week -

One thing that chief executive Whitaker was keen to point out to MCN is that the continued fate of the project will have no impact whatsoever on the running of this year’s British Grand Prix in only eight weeks time.

The Circuit of Wales are the current contract holders for the race, penning a 10-year deal with Motogp bosses Dorna in 2014, and have been hosting the race at Silverstone ever since. But, despite indications that the project might be in jeopardy, he was insistent that this year’s race would continue as normal thanks to the way the project is structured.

“There is absolutely no reason to be concerned about the race. We made a decision at the end of last year to effectively split the Circuit of Wales from Motogp, and they are essentially run by totally different teams of people and under different budgets. There is absolutely no concern about the race, full stop.”
