Barcelona round could be binned

Motogp boss Carmelo Ezpeleta has is­sued a stern warn­ing to the Cir­cuit Catalunya. Ezpeleta (above) said that if work to the sur­face and the fi­nal cor­ner (mod­i­fied af­ter Luis Salom’s fa­tal crash in 2016) was not car­ried out, the se­ries would not re­turn.

Where next for Ra­bat and Miller?

Tito Ra­bat and Jack Miller led the silly sea­son gos­sip at Sach­sen­ring. Ru­moured to be Av­in­tia Du­cat­i­bound, Ra­bat has also been linked with Pra­mac Du­cati, as has Miller – pend­ing ne­go­ti­a­tions with Suzuki.

Moto3 bosses say no to get­ting a tow

Bosses have a new mea­sure in the war against rid­ers cruis­ing for a tow dur­ing Moto3 qual­i­fy­ing – hit­ting them in their wal­lets. They had upped grid po­si­tion penal­ties to 12 places, but when over half the grid was caught at the week­end they fined 18 rid­ers €500 each.

Pasini dis­qual­i­fied – three weeks late

Mat­tia Pasini has been dis­qual­i­fied from his sec­ond place in the Moto2 race at the Cata­lan Grand Prix three weeks ago af­ter his Ital­trans Kalex en­gine was found to have used il­le­gal en­gine oil. Moto2 has a con­trol oil, and race con­trol deemed it to be ‘out­side of the spec­i­fi­ca­tions’.
