Barcelona round could be binned
Motogp boss Carmelo Ezpeleta has issued a stern warning to the Circuit Catalunya. Ezpeleta (above) said that if work to the surface and the final corner (modified after Luis Salom’s fatal crash in 2016) was not carried out, the series would not return.
Where next for Rabat and Miller?
Tito Rabat and Jack Miller led the silly season gossip at Sachsenring. Rumoured to be Avintia Ducatibound, Rabat has also been linked with Pramac Ducati, as has Miller – pending negotiations with Suzuki.
Moto3 bosses say no to getting a tow
Bosses have a new measure in the war against riders cruising for a tow during Moto3 qualifying – hitting them in their wallets. They had upped grid position penalties to 12 places, but when over half the grid was caught at the weekend they fined 18 riders €500 each.
Pasini disqualified – three weeks late
Mattia Pasini has been disqualified from his second place in the Moto2 race at the Catalan Grand Prix three weeks ago after his Italtrans Kalex engine was found to have used illegal engine oil. Moto2 has a control oil, and race control deemed it to be ‘outside of the specifications’.
