How can I stop Q my GSX-R rattling my teeth?

Motorcycle News (UK) - - Garage -

I love my Suzuki GSX-R1000 K6, but at normal road speeds it feels like I’m riding over corrugated iron on certain roads. I have dropped the tyre pressures and backed off all the suspension to its softest setting, but it doesn’t make any difference. Kenneth Whyte, email

AAnswered by Gareth Evans, Reactive Suspension Suzuki went for a stiff fork set-up with the K5 and K6 1000s with restrictive ports in the cartridges that give a very harsh fork damping action, especially on our bumpy roads. To sort them out properly they need to be stripped down completely and the cartridge kits replaced with different pistons and shim stacks married up to larger ports. Expect to pay around £500 for a full makeover.
