Smith’s back in points
Smith was also delighted by the work done by the team over the weekend. Joined by test rider Mika Kallio and with team-mate Pol Espargaró also in the points, Smith says the data gathered is more important than the points.
Mackenzie on a roll
Another positive weekend for the British Supersport champion as he edges closer and closer to the points. Mackenzie was happy with meeting the goals set by team boss Stefan Kiefer as he continues on his learning curve.
Jones in the points
Another strong weekend for the Welsh rookie, Jones scored yet more points in the championship as the Red Bull Rookies goes into their summer break – but will continue in Spanish championship action next week in Estoril.
Lowes under threat
A disappointing end to the weekend despite showing really strong progress as he ran inside the top 10 for much of the weekend. However, there have been no updates to his status for 2018 as Aprilia continue to talk to potential replacements.
Mcphee losess grip
It was a bad end to a promising weekend for Mcphee when rear grip issues early in Sunday’s race caused him to drop back out of the fight for the top six. He then crashed while pushing hard to close them back down.
Skinner out of luck
A difficult weekend at the Sachsenring for Red Bull Rookies front-runner Skinner, the 15-yearold uncharacteristically came home out of the points in 17th, but remains fifth in the championship race.
