‘The Urban G/S is pricier but worth it’
These tough retros are feelgood bikes. The BMW and Ducati are thrilling at sane speeds, loaded with attitude, easy to manage and have quality running through them like the writing in a stick of rock. They have real dirt credentials, too. They’re arguably the best of the R ninet and Scrambler ranges. The Desert Sled is hugely capable, fun and the more affordable, but the Urban G/S wins our test with its thrappier engine, sharper handling and extra refinements. It’s pricier, but worth it.
