Aprilia tweaks pay off for Laverty
After some significant chassis changes, including an older-style one-piece fuel tank being reinstated, Eugene Laverty finished race two at Laguna Seca sixth, and top Aprilia runner, despite starting from tenth place on the race two grid after a race one fall.
“We had so much more pace on Friday due to the setting changes we had made recently but then we kind of brick-walled at that,” said Laverty.
“In race one we had a defective front tyre, which kind of screwed us. Grid position hurt us on Sunday and we still do not have the pace of those front boys but at least I am staying consistent now.”
