Aprilia tweaks pay off for Laverty

Af­ter some sig­nif­i­cant chas­sis changes, in­clud­ing an older-style one-piece fuel tank be­ing re­in­stated, Eu­gene Laverty fin­ished race two at La­guna Seca sixth, and top Aprilia run­ner, de­spite start­ing from tenth place on the race two grid af­ter a race one fall.

“We had so much more pace on Fri­day due to the set­ting changes we had made re­cently but then we kind of brick-walled at that,” said Laverty.

“In race one we had a de­fec­tive front tyre, which kind of screwed us. Grid po­si­tion hurt us on Sun­day and we still do not have the pace of those front boys but at least I am stay­ing con­sis­tent now.”
