1994: Cruiser war
‘The Pan is such an integrated, well thought out motorcycle that it’s hard to single out any area for criticism’ The MCN test, July 13 1994
Looking back at July 1994 is a frightening experience. That’s not long ago, right? Well it certainly feels like it when you look back at the bikes and racers in the news.
MZ had just released the Skorpion – a ground (and filling)-breaking single cylinder sportsbike, Indian were back - shortly before going away again – Suzuki had just switched from the Heron days to being a Japanese subsidiary, and Carl Fogarty was about to have a wildcard ride at the British GP aboard a Cagiva C594 – until it all went horribly wrong and he pulled out to protect his superbike title hopes – which turned out rather better.
Back on the road, new test plans were under fire, so maybe not much has changed after all.
