BMW’S NEW ELECTRIC SCOOT

Motorcycle News (UK) - - THIS WEEK -

BMW have just released their own kick-scooter – the X2city. Designed in conjunction with ZEG, the X2city is powered by an electric motor and can reach speeds of up to 16mph with a range of up to 20 miles. Classified as a Pedelec25, which means it can be ridden by anyone over the age of 14 in Europe and doesn’t require a crash helmet to be worn or the rider to have a driving licence – but it’s not clear if that will be the case here. The X2city is expected to cost less than £2500, weighs under 20kg and takes 2.5 hours to fully recharge. Strangely, BMW have opted not to sell the X2city through their dealer network and instead it can be bought via the online shop of KETTLER Alu-rad by the end of 2017.

It’s nice… but the best guess on price is ‘under £2500’
