‘The Suzuki is the best bargain’
These two middleweight adventure bikes are very well matched. The V-strom XT is more comfortable than the GS, considerably cheaper, and easier to just jump on and ride. Even on the same tyres the Suzuki would have the handling edge – just.
But, the BMW has more gizmos, better brakes, and a smoother gearbox. It’s more fun and has more off-road potential – so if you intend to ride off-road more than occasionally then you have to opt for the (cheap on PCP) German.
But if you’re a cash buyer, the GS is 32% more expensive than the XT, and most will prefer its on-road prowess, and relish its long-range comfort and tank range. The Suzuki is an underrated bargain – and could be all the bike you need.
