Dani Pedrosa has been the King of Motegi in recent years, scoring both valuable title points and kudos with employer Honda at their own circuit. Denied the chance to battle for the win last year after a broken collarbone in practice, he’ll be looking to make amends. But, with cooler weather in October in Japan, the track conditions could play right into the hands of the Yamaha duo of Rossi and Viñales. And, with the championship entering its closing stages by October, there’ll be a lot to play for in what could be a very tense race.
