OLI RUSHBY BSB Reporter YAMAHA MT-07

“I’d go for a used MT-07. You can pick one up with relatively low mileage for just over £4k, so it is slightly over budget, but it’s so much bike for the money! They are light and agile with plenty of poke. It can be heaps of fun while also being economical and practical. It’s a win/win really and they tend to keep their value.

JAMES ARCHIBALD Junior Web Producer SUZUKI GSX-R1000 K5

“With £4000 in my pocket I’d buy a 2005 Suzuki GSX-R1000 K5, no question! It’s the best bike from the time – before electronic wizardry took over. I’ve wanted one for absolutely ages! The problem though is that they keep increasing in value and are getting rarer, which means they keep getting further out of my reach.”

MARIA VALLAHIS, Online Editor KAWASAKI ZX-6R

“I’d go for a Kawasaki ZX-6R – preferably a 2003 to 2009 model – simply because they’re nice to look at and offer decent enough power for a new rider like myself, who is desperate for a little more grunt. After having a browse on MCN Bikes for Sale, you can nab yourself a tidy one with just under 20,000 miles for under £4k.”
