Showdown scrap is on
It’s fair to say the 2017 BSB season hasn’t shaped up quite as Brookes would have wanted. Without a win to his name from seven rounds, he does however have 129 points in the bag, thanks to a strong showing at Snetterton and Brands, leaving him fifth in the title chase.
Shane Byrne’s dominance has continued in 2017, with the Ducati man winning the last four races. He leads the championship with 190 points, from the JG Speedfit Kawasaki duo of Luke Mossey and Leon Haslam, on 161 and 159 points respectively.
Jason O’halloran sits just above Brookes in the standings, on 133 points, with sixth place man Peter Hickman snapping at Brookes’ heels on 119. Thruxton could well provide a serious shake-up for the top six.
