Lorenzo learning to tame Ducati
While things might be looking rosy for Andrea Dovizioso, fivetimes world champion Jorge Lorenzo has had a much tougher time on the other side of the garage as he struggles to adapt his riding style to a machine very different from the Yamaha M1 on which he has spent the past nine seasons.
Despite that, Ducati race boss Paolo Ciabatti says he can see definite improvements coming from the camp, with Lorenzo’s form slowly but steadily improving – something that the veteran team manager says is motivating the whole team.
“It’s taking a little bit longer than we expected and longer than he expected. But we’ve seen some positive signs and some improvements,” he said. “We still have to adjust some things on the bike to suit Jorge’s riding style, but he’s getting stronger and we can see him getting closer and closer. We are all working very hard now, and the motivation is definitely there.”
