What the mighty adventure bike gave us

Motorcycle News (UK) - - Feature -

PARIS-DAKAR CREDIBILITY

It was the first true Paris-dakar replica – of the all-conquering NXR750, which was victorious from 1986-89.

ONE OF THE BEST NAMES

It was suggested by one of Honda’s European sales staff who reportedly said: ‘It must be a real Africa Twin if it has the V-twin engine that raced through Africa.’ A legend was born.

AN ON-BOARD COMPUTER

Ok, it was more a sophisticated twin timer/trip meter than a true computer, but this was 1990 after all…

PEERLESS ROAD PRESENCE

It might have been built for the desert but with the Africa Twin we discovered monster trailies made great road bikes, too.
