Honda probably didn’t plan for their lightest, fastest, Hrc-inspired Blade to be deployed as a commuter and allrounder, but that’s what mine mostly is.
It’s comfy, agile, relatively frugal and, in ‘wet’ pre-set suspension mode, as compliant as an FJR. But one limitation is the absence of bungee hooks (a Blade regular since 1992), which makes tailpacks hard to mount securely. I removed the seat’s rear mounting bolts and replaced them with Kriega Os-rack Loops (£29, www. kriega.com), which offer a solid anchor point for my soft luggage. They worked perfectly on my recent trip to Belgium.
