WHO’S FIRED FREDDIE?
MCN Star letter
Freddie Spencer was watching his career spiral away from him, with poor form through injuries. It reached its nadir in August 1989, when he was fired by Giacomo Agostini’s Marlboro Yamaha team after a series of falls, missed races and minor placings. He was replaced by 250 rider Luca Cadalora. He looked wrong on a Yamaha, anyway.
