16 TT wins ‘I wasn’t satisfied with eight’

Motorcycle News (UK) - - Feature -

Hutchinson’s injury has slightly overshadowed his achievements at this year’s TT, where the Bingley Bullet scored his 15th and 16th mountain course wins to become the third most successful solo rider in history behind Joey Dunlop and John Mcguinness.

“When you’re in the lower numbers at the TT nobody really cares,” he says. “Of course, it’s great when you win but you’ve only one or two or whatever. When I got to eight, I had my injuries but I wasn’t satisfied with that number. It never sounded that good, so I came back and won another eight! Now I’m a 16-time TT winner. I don’t think anyone has really thought about that!”
