Verdict ‘You’d have to be crazy to want an R6 on the road, but I do’
ADAM CHILD SENIOR ROAD TESTER
Every sensible bone in my body says don’t buy the Yamaha R6. It’s hard and harsh on the road. The seat and riding position aren’t as comfortable as the Suzuki GSX-R, the mirrors near useless, there’s no mode button to scroll through the clocks and pillions will have to be brave or stupid. You’d have to be crazy to want one on the road, but I do. When you’re in the mood for some fun nothing else will do, and on track it offers highs other bikes can only dream of. If you’re sensible and clever opt for the cheaper Suzuki; if you want to feel 25 again, try the R6. But just make sure you have your chiropractor on speed dial.
