Leap of faith

Pastrana jumps Thames

Motorcycle News (UK) - - This Week -

Former motocross champion and current NASCAR racer Travis Pastrana completed a stunt many had thought impossible when he backflipped while jumping a 75ft gap between two barges on the Thames. Pastrana had just 150 feet to accelerate across the gap and just 36 feet to pull himself up on the other side or else he’d have taken an undignified dip. This is the first time anyone has tried such a stunt in 11 years – last time around MX rider Mike Metzger fractured two vertebrae attempting something similar. Pastrana will be touring Europe in November and December as part of his Nitro Circus live stunt show.
