Is a move to Repsol Honda the right one for Jorge Lorenzo?

Motorcycle News (UK) - - LIFE ON BIKES -

show us, wow! It’s unbelievable that anyone could even see where they’re going at that speed let alone race. I hope that we see more of this camera work and at every circuit. Alex Wallace, Scotland

Insurance rip-off

I have just had my 1998 Triumph 900 Thunderbird Sport stolen from the street. I bought the bike three years ago for £4500. My insurance company is only offering me £2600 even though on my renewal I said the bike was worth £5000. I have had to refer to the ombudsman as I don’t believe the book price reflects the market value where my policy clearly states ‘replacement value’ in the documentation. I cannot find a low-mileage Thunderbird Sport in good condition for under £5500 as it is increasing in value as a classic motorcycle. I would like other bikers to know about this rip-off and try to get a valuation included written in. David (Skippy) Clifton, email

No cover in London

After many years of comprehensive cover, insurance companies are telling me they can only offer third party cover because I live in London where the risk of theft is high. Is this widespread in the capital? It seems that while the mayor, Sadiq Khan, and the police are urging us to do more stop our bikes being stolen, insurance firms are deciding they no longer wish to help once a theft has taken place. Don't get steamed up

In reply to Andrew Harris’s letter (MCN, June 6) regarding his glasses steaming up. Go online (Amazon or ebay) and search for ‘Cressida Anti-fog’. It’s a spray that divers use on their masks to prevent misting. I was a glasses-wearing police motorcyclist for 25 years and it kept me clear. Hope this helps. Phil Davies, email

Just say no to EU

I was appalled to read in your paper that the Vnuk ruling which is putting racing under threat has reared its ugly yet again (MCN, June 6). What is the matter with our government? We’re due to leave the EU next March and bloody good riddance. We simply do not have to adopt this absurd nonsensical ruling so how about just saying NO! Tim Wombell, email

Hickman's a hero

Meeting Peter Hickman in the pits after his victory in the Production TT and getting to shake the hand of a real sportsman and gentleman was a real honour. Five podiums last year and now his first wins. With his skill, dedication and determination shown in that race , he is a better role model to the young than many of the so called stars and celebrities that fill our newspapers. Let’s hope he gets the recognition he deserves. Mike Mountney, email

'What a gent!' Reader Mike congratulates the great Peter Hickman
