Major shock as Ducati star signs for Repsol Honda team
Despite podiums for Marco Melandri and Chaz Davies at Brno, Ducati continue to be on the back foot, with their early season race winning pace all but a distant memory.
Melandri managed second on Saturday but threw away the chance of a Sunday win through an unforced error at Turn 3. Davies was eighth in Race 1 but bounced back to third in Race 2.
Davies said: “In Race 1 the grip went away so quickly. It was like riding on ice. For Race 2 the bike was more rideable and didn’t drop off at the end. Thank you to the team because we were up late on Saturday and some harsh words were said. We have struggled for grip all season and it’s something we need to get on top of. We need answers, but we’re not finding them.”
