‘IT’S A WEEK OF AMAZING FIRSTS, AND FOURTHS...’
Some weeks it’s hard to know which page to look at first. Do you immerse yourself in the undisputed genius of Jonathan Rea’s fourth world title and incredible win tally, or get ridiculously excited (like most of us at MCN Towers) about Scott Redding’s new deal to come home and race in the British Superbike championship next year? Or, do you doff your hat to history-making Ana Carrasco’s first world title – which is also the first for a female rider – or just lose yourself in the first wave of stunning 2019 new bikes to be unveiled as you contrive new ways to afford a new bike next year?
Regardless of what matters most in your biking world, there are clear signs that 2019 is shaping up to be a special year on two wheels. The glut of new bikes unveiled in Cologne this week prove that manufacturers’ imaginations show no sign of becoming stagnant – and with an even bigger number of bikes rumoured to be unveiled in Milan in four weeks’ time, there’s plenty of time to get that deposit ready to live out your dreams in 2019.
Really though, Redding in BSB? Can’t wait.
