is still cel­e­brated in some parts of Ire­land. The tra­di­tion was that women did all the work over the fes­tive pe­riod while men rarely lifted a fin­ger for fear of be­ing called an “auld woman”! This all changed on Jan­uary 6 when women put their feet up and were waited on hand and foot by their men­folk!
