Make a list of who you’re buying for, how much you’re spending – and stick to it! Make a rule that the only way you can overspend is if you save by underspending on someone else!
Re-gift! If you have unwanted items you’ve been given that are still brand new, pop them in your Christmas cupboard as they may be handy for a last-minute gift. But not when the original giver is there – tread carefully…
Stock up on 3 for 2 stocking fillers in places like M&S, Boots and Tesco. And save on cards, paper and tags in Card Factory or
Wilko. Once presents are wrapped you won’t be able to tell the cheaper paper from the posh stuff and if you buy some cheap reels of ribbon from Wilko or Flying Tiger your gifts will look super fancy anyway.
Save on cards. I go for charity ones, but you don’t have to spend a lot – Oxfam discount stores have clearance boxes of last year’s designs at knockdown prices.
Stick to that gift budget!
