Marzi­pan Mulled Plum Tarts

Prepa­ra­tion time: 10min Serves: 6 (2 each)

IN­GRE­DI­ENTS ◆ 2 plums, halved and pit­ted ◆ 2tbsp light mus­co­v­ado or soft brown sugar ◆ 4tbsp red wine ◆ 1 small or­ange ◆ Pinch of ground mixed spice ◆ 12 mini sweet pas­try tart cases ◆ 80g marzi­pan, grated 1 Thinly slice each plum half into 3 (to give 12 slices in to­tal). Put into a

saucepan with the sugar and red wine. 2 Shred some of the zest from the or­ange and re­serve for dec­o­ra­tion. Squeeze the juice and add to the pan with the mixed spice. Sim­mer gen­tly un­til the plums are ten­der – 4-5min. 3 Share the marzi­pan be­tween the tarts. Lightly grill, or use a cook’s blow­torch to brown lightly. Top with the plum slices and dec­o­rate with or­ange zest.
