The festival of Diwali – a celebration of warm autumnal light that symbolises the spiritual “victory of light over darkness, good over evil and knowledge over ignorance”. Every year, around this time, the northern hemisphere celebrates the end of summer with this popular Hindu tradition, which originated in South Asia. The evening involves many lights and oil lamps, visiting relatives, having feasts, and enjoying fireworks! You can join in in cities such as London, Manchester and Birmingham.
