The popular one
Estée Lauder Double Wear Makeup, £29.50
The brand’s hype: “This is the UK’S No.1 Foundation. 15-hour staying power. Flawless all day. Won’t change colour, smudge or come off on clothes. Feels lightweight and comfortable.”
Verdict: Although this did start to highlight dry patches, most long-wear formulas tend to do the same. There are many good points to this option like coverage and longevity. If you go for this foundation exfoliate regularly.
This goes on thick and creamy, but it doesn’t feel like you’re applying a mask. It’s also very easy to blend and the coverage is great. So far I can see why it’s so popular.
By lunchtime on a very muggy day, the foundation still looks good but you are aware that you’re wearing lots of foundation. It’s not that breathable.
The coverage has faded very slightly on the nose (though hayfever did result in a lot of sneezing and tissue usage). And it’s clung a little to the dry patches on my face.
