Smashbox Studio Skin Hydrating Foundation, £28
The brand’s hype: “Stay picture-perfect for a full 15 hours with our breakthrough long-wearing formula, developed to withstand intense on-set conditions. Skin is hydrated and shine-free.”
Verdict: Smashbox Cosmetics were created for use in photo studios, under hot lights, to look flawless in HD and to need minimum touch-ups. This foundation and it’s wear-ability is proof that they know what they’re doing.
This is a nice texture and I found that the warmth of my fingers, as opposed to using a brush, helped to blend it into the skin easily. The coverage was medium.
By lunchtime the coverage is still lasting really well and whilst calling it ‘hydrating on the skin’ may be a tiny bit of a stretch, I don’t feel like it’s drying out my skin either.
Miraculously, by the end of work, this formulation has not settled into my dry areas and it still looks fresh and ‘realskin’ like ages after my lipstick had faded into oblivion.
