I fell in love with Italian cuisine long before I met my Italian girlfriend...

No. 1 Magazine - - FRONT PAGE -

Do you do a lot of cooking? What are your favourite flavours to cook with?

The flavours of Italy are definitely my absolute favourite to work with. My girlfriend is Italian, but I’ve always loved Italian food – in fact, I fell in love with Italy before I fell in love with her you could say! The two elements combined have just heightened my understanding and love for the foods and flavours of Italy. With Italian food, the dishes are so simple yet so clever. You don’t need a lot of ingredients or tools to make a delicious meal and Italian cooking represents that in my eyes.

What’s your favourite Italian dish?

My absolute favourite is a well-known Italian dish called Vitello Tonnato. It sounds horrible, but basically it’s a piece of cold sliced veal with a creamy sauce that is flavoured with tuna which is spread over the top. A few capers are then added and it’s often served with some crispy fried onions. It’s my all time favourite, it’s absolutely delicious – if you like Italian food, it’s definitely one to try.
