The Moody Blue
1 Bourjois Paris So Laque Nail Polish in Bleu Asphalte, £5.99 The brand’s hype:
“Enriched with twice as much vinyl and a complex of highly reflective resins for ultra shiny nails with a long-lasting hold. The fixing agent in the formula keeps your nails highly resistant for up to seven days hold.”
This is easy to apply, it’s quite thick and the colour pay off is great after one application, but I applied two anyway just to be safe. It’s got a good shine to it.
I like the colour, it’s quite unusual, like a stormy night sky, making it a good option for autumn. However, by day three the shine has definitely worn off and the edges are starting to chip a little.
By day five the chipping is extremely noticeable (except not at all on the pinky nail weirdly). It’s actually a bit embarrassing keeping such chipped varnish on, but anything in the name of a thorough trial!
Verdict: I loved the colour and the shine of day one and how easy it was to apply and get a good colour payoff, however, the chipping cannot be ignored. Also the formula seems to really highlight ridges in the nails.
