Why Kate dropped out...

No. 1 Magazine - - COVER STORY -

After Kate failed to attend the wedding of Will’s close friends in the summer, rumours began that perhaps all was not well behind closed doors. Will ended up attending the wedding with Kate’s sister Pippa instead of his wife. Apparently Kate dropped out so last minute that the seating plan that was written onto a large antique mirror at the reception still read ‘William and Catherine Wales’. However, sources close to the couple say that the real reason Kate missed the wedding is because when they’re together they take too much attention away from the bride and groom. Plus they worry the intimacy of a wedding is spoiled if hundreds of paparazzi descend on the church. In fact, contrary to rumours, it’s said that the couple are actually happier than ever. What works for the pair is that their relationship is built on years of trust – they’re best friends and share the same sense of humour. They’re often spotted cracking up together at official engagements. In years gone by, royal couples have seemed far more rigid, mismatched and often seemingly miserable together – chemistry is not something that was commonly seen in royal circles. But Kate and Will have it in spades. Therefore, any stories that come out about there being trouble in paradise are simply water off a ducks back for the couple and will never cause them to question each other’s commitment.

The royal couple’s shared sense of humour unites them in the face of criticism.
