cou­ple of is­sues ago we showed the stun­ning make-over of our reader Jes­sica who was look­ing for a glam make-up look for day­time as she’s get­ting mar­ried later in the year. What we didn’t tell you is that Jes­sica had orig­i­nally got in touch to tell us about her won­der­ful mum Sharleen. She told us, “I am email­ing you to tell you why my mum Sharleen, 45, is de­serv­ing of a No.1 Reader Make-over. “In the last five years my mum has gone through more than most. Firstly, she helped to di­ag­nose my nephew’s di­a­betes which had been left un­treated for three years. The dif­fer­ence to his health is amaz­ing. “Also, my mum works as a Staff Nurse and late last year she vol­un­teered as a sol­dier in the Ter­ri­to­rial Army and went to Afghanistan and served as a nurse for six months. I am so in­cred­i­bly proud of her.” Jes­sica con­tin­ued, “Ear­lier this month, my step­fa­ther was di­ag­nosed with can­cer which has af­fected our

fam­ily quite badly. My mum, be­ing the self­less per­son she is, has con­tin­ued to put ev­ery­one else first and cre­ate pos­i­tiv­ity re­gard­less of the sit­u­a­tion. “My mum truly is an an­gel with­out wings and I re­ally couldn’t think of any­one more de­serv­ing.” Sharleen is clearly an amaz­ing lady so we just had to get her along to a No.1 Make-over Day for a spe­cial treat and to give her some much-de­served pam­per­ing.
