Make ME Over
Every issue one lucky reader gets a day of pampering from No.1!
Every issue, we’re overwhelmed by the number of lovely make-over nominations we receive and this issue was no different. Sharon’s partner, James, got in touch to nominate her on behalf of her beautiful daughter Jenna, who suffers from Rett Syndrome and it was a very touching letter. It read: “I am writing to you to request that my mum is considered for a make-over from your fabulous makeover team. My name is Jenna Mcgill, let me tell you a bit about myself and you will understand why I am nominating my mum, Sharon... “I am 25-years-old and I’ve been in a wheelchair since I was two as I was diagnosed with Rett Syndrome when I was 18-months-old. I also suffer from epilepsy and I seizure sometimes once a day. I have scoliosis due to ‘Rett’ and I sometimes require to be fed through a tube inserted in my stomach. “I am the luckiest girl in the world to have such a wonderful mummy, she ensures I am immaculate every time I leave the house. She has taken four months off her work, unpaid, to care for

me and show my new carers my needs. “My mum takes me to hospital a few times a week and although I cannot convey to her how much I love and appreciate her, I think this make-over nomination would at least show her in some way. I am unable to talk, walk, feed myself – my mum does all this for me. “Sometimes I feel like I just want to hold her and cuddle her and thank her for caring for me all these years. I love her and I would love her to be considered for a make-over, I do not think she needs it as she is gorgeous but she deserves to be pampered. “This email was written by my mum’s partner James. He is okay, a bit cheeky but I love him too.” After reading such a heart-warming nomination and hearing about all the wonderful and selfless things Sharon does for her family, we were delighted to ask her to join us at our make-over day.
