• Scissors • Moss ring • Pine branches • Ivy • Holly • Dried orange • Pine cones • Festive bow • Florist wire • Pins

STEP 1:

A pre-prepared moss ring will make the perfect base for your wreath. You can make one yourself however it can be time consuming and messy, it’s far easier to purchase one for around £6.

STEP 2:

Cut the pine branches into 10cm lengths and group together in a fan formation. Secure the bundle with wire. Place on top of the moss ring and fix in place with the wire.

STEP 3: Continue making fan structures and securing them to the wreath with the wire. Work in the same direction placing each fan slightly below the previous one so there are no gaps. Secure tightly with wire, until the front of the wreath is completely covered.

STEP 4:

Next, take a bundle of ivy and fix to the inner section of your wreath in the same way. Then, secure small sections of holly with the wire and add to your wreath. STEP 5: By now your wreath should be looking quite full with a layer of pine, an inner circle of ivy and several clusters of sprigs of holly. Place your wreath on the floor and check if there are any areas that need filled out.

STEP 6:

Take the dried orange and the pine cones and wrap a short length of wire around each. Place on the wreath and fix in place.

STEP 7:

Take each pine cone and place at intervals around your wreath. A top tip is to opt for an odd number to help make it look balanced.

STEP 8:

Again, place your wreath on the floor and stand back to check if there any gaps. Make sure your pine cones are fixed to the wreath securely so you can hang it without any dislodging.

STEP 9:

Next, begin to fix the dried orange in place. Again, step back at intervals to check you are happy with the placement. Flatten the fruit against the wreath and make sure the wire is hidden.

STEP 10:

Finally, fix your bow (guide on how to make your bow on facing page) on to the wreath with a length of wire. Next, tie some brown string onto the back of your wreath to hang it. Voilà! Your Christmas wreath is ready for hanging!
